Our Story

From a center of hope to a modern sanctuary in Rwamagana.

A Legacy of Hope

CAAR Hotel’s story is deeply rooted in the resilience of Rwanda’s people. It begins with AVEGA Agahozo (Association des Veuves du Génocide des Tutsi Agahozo.)

CAAR Hotel History

Originally established as the Centre d'Accueil AVEGA Agahozo Rwamagana (CAAR) in 2016, this facility has served as a haven of rest, recovery, and community for decades.

What began as part of AVEGA's broader mission to offer shelter, healing spaces, and practical support for survivors has evolved thoughtfully. Today, we are in the final stages of transforming into CAAR Hotel—a premier guest experience that preserves our heritage of compassion while embracing modern comfort, luxury, and hospitality. This renewal honors the past while opening doors to a wider audience.

Hospitality with a Purpose

At CAAR Hotel, we believe in Hospitality with a Heart. Every stay, every meal, and every event hosted in our halls directly funds essential social programs for genocide survivors, including healthcare, legal advocacy, and economic empowerment initiatives.

Why Choose CAAR?
